The International Insolvency Institute (III)
The International Insolvency Institute at Fairfax, Virginia, is a non-profit organization active in the international field of insolvency law. Its primary objectives include improving international co-operation in the insolvency area and achieving greater co-ordination among nations in multinational business reorganizations and restructurings. The organization's membership is very diverse and includes members from all professions involved in insolvency law such as judges, professors, practitioners, and others. Each year, the III organizes a large annual conference with a very extensive program. In 2012, the annual conference was held in Paris on June 21 and 22. The venue for the annual conference in 2013 was at Columbia Law School in New York. In 2014, the annual conference took place in Mexico City on June 9 and 10. The venue of the conference on June 15 and 16, 2015, was Naples, Italy. During the conference in Naples,the III members decided to have their first conference in Asia because the planning committee could show that Tokyo was a very attractive location. The conference in Tokyo was then held from June 6-7, 2016. London hosted the conference from June 18 to June 20, 2017. In 2018, the conference went back to New York again. The upcoming conference on June 17-18, 2019, will be held in Barcelona.
